Former LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux's college career, which has seen more time linked to disciplinary issues than playing time, came to an end Friday morning when he was dismissed from the team for failing a drug test, a team member confirmed Friday.

LSU coach Les Miles announced Perrilloux's dismissal in a news release.

LSU Athletic Director Skip Bertman sat comfortably in his sixth-floor office just less than a month before his 71st birthday.

The five-time College World Series championship coach, sitting with a large flat computer screen behind him, spoke confidently and conversationally about his accomplishments at LSU, often gesturing to help get his point across his dark, wooden desk and its few scattered papers.
