We want it fast, quick and easy. Living in a fast-paced generation full of promiscuity and fly-by-night relationships is quite challenging. Meaningful relationships are slowly dwindling in number while hook-ups and one-night-stands seem to be on the rise.

How many times have you heard of the terms "cut buddy" or "friends with benefits"? How many times have you been either of the two? It is not uncommon to find yourself in a relationship that only has one purpose: sex.

Sex, although primitive, is not the only reason humans are here. Sex is important and people have it not only for procreation but pleasure as well.

Now, don't get me wrong, this is not an article about abstinence or celibacy, this is, however, an article about the emptiness of the physical experience that we often times share with strangers.

At this age we are exploring all that sex has to offer, unfortunately this includes the highs and lows.

While "friends with benefits" relationships may be enjoyable, they wreak horrible consequences. These relationships never last for long. Either the thrill of having a no-strings-attached sexual relationship dies out or the inevitable happens: someone begins catching feelings for the other party.

If you must indulge in a "friend with benefits" relationship, then please be sure to have an accurate perception of what exactly you are getting into. Know that if he or she has the opportunity to be your boyfriend or girlfriend, and they don't, but instead choose to have a flimsy sexual relationship with you, then that may not be the person for you.

Steer away from hook-ups and one-night-stands. They only end with a few memories and a lot of regrets.
